Hello, I see you are new here. Just to let you know, if you would post your question in the Case & David Brown section of the forums here you will have a better chance of getting help you need. There are many very knowledgeable Case people there. This is just on your personal profile, and may not be seen by many people that could help.

Barnyard, NO IT JUST STARTED DOING. . IT STEERS EASILY IN EVERY DIRECTION, NO FIGHTING OF THE WHEEL AT ALL. VERY EASILY DRIVEN TILL YOU TURN LOOSE OF WHEEL FOR AN INSTANT AND IT DOES AN IMMEDIATE LEFT TURN, AND IS VERY EASILY TO BRING BACK TO CENTER AGAIN.. IS THERE ANYTHING NOW I HAVE MISSED FROM ANYONES QUESTIONS TO ME. Pictures will take awhile if possible at all. THANKS GUYS A MILLION.

One advantage to the two cylinder design was the ability to keep it crosswise, keeping all gearshafts paralled all the way to the rear axle, also keeping the engine mass closer to the driving wheels. This allowed simpler spur gears, which were made pretty ruggedly.
Got it found .Ground post, on right side of engine. Just unhooked, the wire, so no safety measures but the thing will now mow grass!!
Plannng to put a new bush hog in service. Wore some holes through outside of our old hog. The inside surface just seems to be painted.
What would be the best material to coat the underside to prolong its life ? (ie type of coating)
Many thanks for any help you can give me !

Thank you for your suggestions.
This is a retired Farm use Cub, and now a Parade-Trailer puller. So I have to turn loose of steering wheel at times along the route my friend.
The offset Fords seems to be thicker in tobacco country, southeast states and Kalifornia. East central Missouri must have had some great Ford dealers because there are zillions of Fords around here. Last fall I saw a Ford 541 sell at estate auction for $4600. and it was non running but straight. Another estate sale is coming up May 18-19 near here with dozens of rough Fords including 2 offsets.
clutchpack has been rebuilt..
however, I am struggling now with the process of of engaging the pto as it will not go over center on the shaft.
I have been told that possibly this model has a 540 and 1000 pto option. is it true that the 540 needs 11 plates in total and the 1000 needs 9.
any suggestions would help.
thank you
