Case 1816c loses power and dies when drive pumps are engaged.

I think you may be right, or maybe the reverse. I was just sitting in it, idling, thinking, and it started to jerk around ever so slightly like it was trying to engage.

Case 1816c loses power and dies when drive pumps are engaged.

So, I have a Case 1816c skid steer. Yesterday, my son got it stuck in the mud, but I managed to wrestle it out. As he was driving it back to the garage, there was a loud bang or clank, and then it bogged down until we put the break on. Let it sit a minute, tried again, same thing. If the...

    Valve stem location on 1816C

Turns out somebody put tubes in these tubeless tires, so I’m assuming that the tube moved inside the tire displacing the valve stem. I’m not set up for tire remobal and bead breaking so to the shop it goes.

Ok, so flip the rims for easier access? I was baffled.

    Valve stem location on 1816C

Ok, here comes another dummy question. I ran over some roofing nails courtesy of my 10 year olds “clean up” from a project he was working on for our rabbits. I thought no big deal, I went and grabbed my plug kit and went to let some air out and…I cannot for the life of me find the stem. The...

Just Bought 1816c, ran yesterday, won’t start today.

That’s a great idea. However, gentlemen…eh hmmm…it was out of gas. I was sure it wasn’t, but I was sure wrong.

Just Bought 1816c, ran yesterday, won’t start today.

I don’t think so, it ran beautifully yesterday when they dropped it off, sat overnight and then this morning I couldn’t get it started. I haven’t put new plugs in it yet, but it was serviced in September and barely ran since then. The carb was filthy so I cleaned it up, but no adjustments were...

Just Bought 1816c, ran yesterday, won’t start today.

I tried it both ways but with the lever primarily pushed forward. Is the choke normally on a spring mechanism? I’ve tried it in nearly every position, but to no avail. They told me it would be hard to start under 40° to be fair.

Just Bought 1816c, ran yesterday, won’t start today.

Howdy Folks, I’m sure this has been covered at length, but I’m having trouble navigating the new mobile layout. Ok, so I bought this skid steer yesterday and it ran fine. The choke lever was rusted in place and appeared to be pulled out (knob missing) so I tapped it with a hammer and hit the...

Hello Everyone, This is my first time posting because I ve been able to find everything else in the archives, but I think I ve run into one of those things that everyone assumes everyone knows how to do, but not this genius! I was trenching with my blade, under a heavy load and she...

Thanks for the input Jim, I should have been more clear, but you guys know how it goes, your wife is asking you to please hurry up because "your four children would sure like to spend some time with their father," "hopefully that tractor is better to you than I ve been," or any number of similar...

If you don t mind taking the time to help the idiots out there, I ll give you a ful breakdown. I bought this tractor about a month and a half ago from a guy up the road. It didn t seem to have any problems except that you had to choke it to kill it. After using it to grade a road one...

    1948 8N timing gears.

Bruce, You were right, the timing gears were just fine as long as the dash is supposed to line up with the 0. I m on my second distributor in two weeks because I got antsy and burned a coil up. I ended up converting to EI because I couldn t get a set of points to line up correctly. I...
