Did I make the wrong decision?

I've seen people die from metastatic prostate cancer. If the shots can lengthen the time you are (mostly) symptom free, then I'd take the shots. I'm already old and weak. I'm not quite 70. You did well to do as good as you were. None of us are getting out of this life alive. My Dad made it...

    Infection from my cow pasture

Since you haven't gotten better...PLEASE ask your doc to send you to an Infectious Disease Specialist ASAP (before you lose your toe or foot)! You may need to take several different antibiotics every day. Or you may need IV antibiotics to kill it. The right answer depends on multiple...

401, It Lives, Need a Wiring Harness

Steiner, in Owosso, Michigan sold me an excellent harness for my 4020, as well as idiot proof instructions of what gets connected to what. John

    4020 wiring harness

I bought a complete wiring harness for my 1964 4020 from Steiner this past spring. Excellent quality. With included directions, it was easy to install. Steiner asked me the year of the tractor (serial number), and they wanted to know if tractor was 24 or 12 volt, alternator or generator. Can't...

    Gas 2020 Wont Start

My 2020 ran terrible. Pull the fuel line at the carb. There is an in-line fuel filter on the end of the fuel line! (It actually sticks into the carb.) My filter was plugged and letting very little fuel past it. Cleaned it out, and now it runs much better. John

1967 John Deere 2020 gas engine running issue

Mine wouldn't run well until I discovered the fuel line screen on the end of the fuel line (actually sticking into the carburetor). Cleaned out that screen (it was full of junk), and it ran much better. John

    John Deere 2020

If you don't have a lot of mechanical aptitude (like me), it can be miserably annoying until you get all the bugs worked out. Mine is a 1967 model, and is now a good little tractor (55 horse). If you buy, get an Owners Manual, a Repair Manual, and a Parts Manual. John

poll on using sisal twine in balers

Deere 328. I prefer Sisal, but the baler will do either. John

    Houser and Sons

They're about 10 miles south of me. Have bought two tractors from them. They will honestly tell you what is right (and wrong) with the equipment you are buying. Albert has had some health problems lately and is not as involved in the business. Todd (son) is now very busy, but is also a good...

    2020 JD

If it is a gasser: Unscrew the fuel line from the carburetor. There is a strainer on the end of the fuel line (the strainer sticks into the carburetor). My strainer was pretty well plugged with crud, and the engine wouldn't run worth beans. Cleaned out the strainer and it runs like a top. John

John Deere 2020 final drive oil

Check the oil level by unscrewing the knob (which is attached to a dipstick) that is on the platform - directly behind you right heel when you are sitting on the seat. After you have the dipstick loose and dried off, then just set it on the access hole to read an accurate level (assuming the...

    John Deere Grain Binder

It's been about 12 years since I used mine (don't trust my memory) but: My recollection is that the "hitch" is a triangular framework that (when in working position) mounts in front of the binder. When in transport position this triangular framework mounts in brackets underneath the grain...
