jd173 engine stops when engage mower

I have a JD 160 which had the same problem. I found out the seat safety switch plastic had disintegrated since it was over 30 years old. Replaced the switch and I was back in operation.

    Railroad Jack

My friend has obtained a Duff-Norton No. 517 15 ton railroad jack. We tried seeing if it works correctly. It will jack up but it slid down when we tried to lower it. My dad had a railroad jack that had to jacked down to lower it. Anybody have any cue if this is the correct operation.

    Saturday Special 24/2

I remember as a little kid in the 60s seeing wire tied bales of wood chips on my grandfather's dairy farm. I always wondered how they managed to keep the wood chips from falling apart.

    Todays funny

I had a similar accident as a kid. My grandfather's JD A was parked under a lean-to and I released the brakes. It rolled backwards and the left rear tire just caught the edge of the garage behind it and stopping it. Otherwise it would of ended up rolling into the chicken coop.

    Wednesday Implement

I was told by an old timer you can get the tractor stuck on a large stone with a non-trip plow like this. It was easier to unhook a trailer plow not attached to the tractor frame.
