    Ferguson TO30 wiring

Did you try testing for spark from the plug wire to the block? We have had occasios where the plug hole is carboned up and insulates the plug from the block. No ground. Clean up threads, and run wire wheel over plug threads unless they are new. Good luck!

    TO30 Hydraulics (part 3)

Just for information, and closure, the hydraulic problem is solved and they are working. It was a lot of work, but not hard. I can't say what the problem was because there were a few. The system couldn't work with the broken oil tube. To replace it the pump has to come out and the top lid...

    Alternator choice

Sorry for the confusion, Farmer. I was using the wording of the alternator vendors. They called it a replacement block. My mistake was thinking the rep block was from a to30. I was wrong there also. What it comes down to is that it appears no one is producing a bracket to fit the...

    Alternator choice

We are working on a to20 conversion. We ran into a problem with this statement "replacement Z-120 blocks were cast from Z-129 patterns. The result is two untapped bosses on the block behind the generator which prevent the alternator from mounting and this will not work" and are now confused...

    Alternator choice

Tom, it's not the wiring or the voltage. It is finding the brackets to fit our block. Still trying to determine if ours is like the one pictured above. Tom

    Alternator choice

[I wonder if that means if I look for to30 alternator kit it would fit on our 20?

    GASKET SET QUESTION

Okay, here is what I learned. The kiit is put together for about 37 different tractors. Not all pieces will be used for any tractor model. For instance, the gaskets for mounting the cylinder to the lid as in the TO20 (but not the 30) are included, but not the o ring which is used on the 30...

    GASKET SET QUESTION

I bought a hydraulic lid gasket set from here and am having trouble figuring out where to put them.. There are two green fiber washers about 2.5 in od, and an o ring about the same size. A key would have been nice, but maybe you folks can help me out.

    To30 hydraulics part 2

Okay, the head gasket, intake and exhaust gaskets plus the oil pan was taken off and cleaned. After all that the tractor started again. Now back to the hydraulics. Today I followed all the directions for taking the pump out. Everything went well until the removal. I had it on blocks so I...

    To30 hydraulics part 2

Do you remember if it was a pressed fit or a somewhat loose fit? Was there a flare at the top? I know it as been fifty years, but anything else you can remember would be a help.

    To30 hydraulics part 2

Is the tube just a press fit? The hole seems smaller than the tube' s od. Now I'm only looking at the hole in the pump base. If the top hole is larger it may work. The ends of the tube seem captured by the housing. Has anyone done this recently?

    To30 hydraulics part 2

Good news is that the pump is out and cleaned up. Haven't gone inside yet but tomorrow is another day. The activation rod was not broken, and when I saw the new control valve I could see how to get it aligned to go into the pump making room for the pump to drop. Heavy bugger when lying on...
