    36A loader on a 1964 2010 diesel

Thanks for all the replies! I have heard of the 2010's shortcomings, this one has done all I've asked of it so far and has a good power steering system. The loader has 1 valve with 2 spools for lift and dump. Previous tractor was a JD 435, with 1 remote, no power steering, loader was plumbed...

    36A loader on a 1964 2010 diesel

I have a 2010 diesel and can get a 36A loader for it cheaply. Unit would be used on hobby farm, mainly to feed 800# round bales during winter. Tractor has scv for one remote cylinder. What are my options for powering the loaders two valves (lift and bucket). Thanks for your help. George

    trailer brakes

Auto parts stores around here have 2 types of 6 round to the larger 7 "RV" style adapters. One will wire the center as AUX (constant hot) the other has the center "brake" for trailer brakes. The ones I've seen have it marked on the locator key usually in almost impossible to read script!

    More fence

I'm not a professional fence builder by any means but I have learned a few tricks to help with setting T posts. Bobcat or front end loader can be used to push the post in --IF-- 1) try putting a piece of 2" water pipe over the post before pushing. It'll keep the post from bending and popping out...

3020 leaking oil on my boots!

Update on seal replacement -- got the parts in sooner than I expected ($12). Took 2 days to get the wheel off with a puller, penetrating oil and tapping every time I passed. Once off, took maybe 30 min start to finish. After about an hour of test driving, still holding good. We'll see how long...

3020 leaking oil on my boots!

Thank you Tim s, Cliff Nelson and Matties for the answers. Since this is purely a hobby tractor, I'll try the short cut first and if that doesn't do, it'll come out and I'll make the arrangements to send it your way Tim. It'll be several weeks before I get a chance to work on it but I'll let...

3020 leaking oil on my boots!

Question for the experts. 1964 3020, row crop, wide front end, diesel, powershift found after sitting for 5 years. All systems coming back up nicely. Now I'm getting a significant oil leak from the steering column right at the steering wheel. Steers fine- just leaks on your feet...

    New generation dual front wheels

Back in the middle 70's we doubled our 806 up like that to keep it from sinking into spring wheat/oat silage as it packed in a pit type silo. We had a wide front end and had no problems, a neighbor tried it on a 4010 and broke several spindles. In the JD's defense- he was mighty hard on any...

    Checking 3020 PS valves

Found it !! Thanks to both of you. I have had the manuals for only a short time and missed that little paragraph and picture. You probably saved me a coupling repair!

    Checking 3020 PS valves

Mornin all. Just came into possession of a 1964 JD 3020 diesel with power shift. I'll need to bar the engine over to check valves and other stuff. I hate to pry on the forward engine hydraulic coupling-- is there a better way to sneak up on TDC and such?? TIA

JD 50 Electronic Ignition Coil Temp.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy elsewhere. Here"s what we have now. Ignition resistor from an auto parts place, no idea of the resistance but tractor runs great with about 7-8 volts on the coil once all warms up. The coil now runs cooler than the generator (about 130F). All seems good to go...

JD 50 Electronic Ignition Coil Temp.

Now the rest of the story! So I learn this history today, the tractor hasn't been run much in 8 - 10 years. They never could keep it going for long, now I find out (with you fellows help) someone back "then" rewired the tractor - without the resistor! Now to replace it--- any suggestions? What...

JD 50 Electronic Ignition Coil Temp.

Just installed an electronic ignition conversion with Flame Thrower ignition coil on a friends 1956 50. Tractor runs great but the coil seems very hot to the touch. Do these epoxy filled coils normally run hotter than original point coils? Scared to put her to work until I find out what to...
