    Lunch box stick welders...

I bought one 10 years ago. It's great for small stuff. Had to replace stinger and fix cable ends, but I agree it's been useful. I mostly used 1/16 rods. 6013.

My friend's going to try changing the cap and rotor. We'll see. He only gets to work on it on the weekends and I happened to be there this weekend to help him. We were both scratching our heads. Yesterday when we took it out for a drive after replacing the ignition switch, everything was...

Ignition switch 0n 83 mustang GT

Thanks for all the replies guys. It's running now. But it's been an intermittent problem. We've checked all the grounds and cleaned up that auxiliary ground from the negative cable. I'm going to check the suggestions about that solenoid. Get the readings while it's working right. I'm in...

Ignition switch 0n 83 mustang GT

Spent thus afternoon chasing an intermittent electrical problem on 83 mustang. Mustang starts and runs fine most times. But has on one instance lost power while driving. And other times will not start after running. That is you park it then go inside and then come back out and it won't start...

    Sprayer for Super A

I have a barrel mount that goes on the single point fast hitch. Barrel sat on the rear hitch and PTO pump drove the sprayers which were mounted across the barrel. It's disassembled now, but I could post pictures of the pieces. It does require fast hitch though.

Uneducated Fool Looking For Fancy Food

Welcome to the site. You can learn a lot about all that stuff here. But I'd recommend being a little more specific in your queries. Also, you might try posting them on the tractor tales forum too. I raise all my own meat and hunt deer. It's pretty darned hard to beat meat (little Freudian...

Farmall M charging issue - must rev engine for charge

My 49 uses a one wire. It also still has a magneto and it starts on the first crank. So as long as that one-wire comes on every now and then to charge the battery for the next start, it's not an issue.

    Ford 640 will not start

Pull a plug after you've been cranking it. If it's not trying to start then you should have gas on those plugs. Then check to make sure you have spark at the plugs, if you haven't done so already. If you're getting spark and gas, then look at your firing order. Make sure the rotor is hitting the...

    Would you read this?

Here is an example of a print-on-demand book I bought from bookmagic.com. it was printed the day after I ordered it and shipped the day of printing. Cost was $26.95. if you can't get a regular publishing house interested, this type of operation might take you up on it.

    Would you read this?

Ahhh. There's a girl involved! That makes a lot of sense. Young girls have inspired many a great work. I think you should finish the book, get a good editor to look at it, and then self-publish through one of the many print-on-demand services out there for niche interests. Even if you don't make...

    Would you read this?

Hey Andrew. I'm curious. During your research did you happen to come across any mention of the Sweeney School in KC MO? It was a Hands-On training school for auto and tractor mechanics in the early 20th century. My paternal grandfather graduated from there in 1920. Returned home and started an...

Tractor Sale Gone Sour. What Would You Do?

When David first posted I didn't bother to offer my opinion. But at the time I thought to myself that I'd just give the neighbor his money back and give myself a mental note not to sell on installments. I'm glad it all worked out. I wonder if the son paid the father back the amount that had...
