1973 Ford 3000 Fuel Line Replacement Challenge

My fuel line is leaking and no amount of tightening is fixing the leak. This line runs from the filter to the CAV. The one that is on the tractor now is a hard plastic, and the filter end has a male connections that tightens the compression ring into the filter housing. The CAV end slips over a nipple and is fastened with a hose clamp. (Both ends of this line are worn out)

I have searched high and low for a 1/4 inch fuel line with this combination with no luck. Any idea how to resolve this replacement quest?

You must be referring to the injection pump as the ''CAV''?

A photo would be GREAT!

Take a look at the link below, and see if you can pick out exactly which parts you are looking for.

If the specific line(s) you need are nla from CNH, try taking the old parts to a place that sells heavy truck parts.

They will have plastic air brake line (typically rated for fuel, as well) and ferrules to fit along with your old tubing ''nuts''.

Get on the www and get an adapter with one end fitting the tank output and the other a 3/8 hose barb and another one for the fuel
filter inlet and a similar hose barb. Get a 3/8 piece of regular rubber fuel line and a couple of hose clamps and fix the problem. If
you need a new fuel tank outlet screen/shut off valve ebay has that too. Piece of cake.....if the problem is between the filters and
the pump (CAV) same thing applies. I've used regular fuel line in that application for decades and never a problem.

This is a gravity feed situation and 14.7 PSI (atmospheric pressure) is your only pressure to be encountered.

You can do the same for the return fuel line from the injectors if it becomes unusable. Pressure there is minimal.

If you have problems on the return line between injectors , ebay has the moulded drop in assembly too. Probably YT has it also if
you shop them.

That is great guidance. Thank you for your time and detail, very helpful!

Peace!
