300 Utility Power Steering Leak

Hi,
I removed the power steering box from my 300 Utility to replace a leaking welch plug. Now that I have it on the bench, I see another leak. In the photo there is a plate on the left side which has two holes in the middle of it. It looks like oil is leaking out of those holes. I have read that there are shims under that plate. My question is what is the purpose of those holes, and do they need some sort of plug?

From Part illustration Number 51 through 54, the image does not show any plugs in these holes. The shims would provide a method of adjusting backlash/clearance for the rack #58. If the oil is just weeping out, I would tolerate it. If running out I would take a look! A manual for servicing the box would help if you decide to add or reduce shims. Jim
