I've picked up a 1953 Hough HA-C Payloader and I need help sourcing parts.

It is missing the cap and rotor and the brake shoes are very rusty and have de-laminated from the backing.

Welcome to the forums.

It looks like the distributor needs some cleaning and care besides a cap and rotor. The Standard Motor Products e catalog shows they used Prestolite (Autolite) and Delco Remy distributors. It looks like a Delco distributor to me based on the points. The points look like the Standard (Blue Streak) #DR2227 ones. Attached find a picture of what the catalog has for Waukesha options. You can look up the points, find pictures, and decide for yourself. Look on the distributor body for an identification tag. On a Delco it should be riveted to the barrel of the distributor body. Prestolite often had a tag under one of the cap clip screws.

As for the brakes, I think you will likely need to strip them apart and go to a parts store and play mix and match. If there is a tag on that axle that identifies it you can also try a shop that sells medium and heavy truck parts.
