Gleaners with 250 Chevy Engines

Has anyone here ever put a Chevy 250 or 292 engine into a WC tractor using an adapter plate from a Gleaner combine powered by a Chevrolet 250 engine? What years/models of Gleaners used the 250 engine? Thanks.

Why would there be an adapter plate? The engine only mated to
a housing that had a v-belt sheave on it. It didnt mate to an Allis
clutch or transmission.

This is a 292 on a model F. I'm not sure what he calls an adapter plate either.

It still has a bell housing. There must be a plate on the back of the block for that to bolt to.

Thanks so much for the replies and photos. What he refers to may be the housing on the back of the engine that the sheave housing bolts to.

A model K or K2 has no tail shaft housing as they are a narrower body combine, They do have a backplate for the starter to attach to, but it sure doesn't align with anything on a WC/WD tractor bellhousing.

Find a E3 with a 226 M or Z code engine. It will bold right in. Just have to make a plate for the fuel pump hole, bore out the front pulley or saw the crank nose off, flip the one oil line 180 and add the governor control rod and bushings. Find a WD45 distributer.
