Grew up on a vac. Was the only tractor on a small
dairy. Poor little vac got a bunch of running time .
Taught 5 boys to drive. The 46 model was wore slam
out by the seventies. Spunky little tractors.

Watching this video several factors come to mine; no OSHA rules there, no over weight workers, and work like the Amish do today.
 
I noticed that several of those mowing tractors are VC's and not VAC's. The VC's are easily identified. Exhaust stack is on the opposite side of the hood from the air intake. VC's were built before VAC's and look a lot like a VAC, but share very few parts with a VAC. The engines used in VC's were built by continental. I think the MH Pony used the same engine. VAC's used a Case designed engine. Both were built at Rock Island, not Racine.
