About 2 or 3 am on inauguration day we were hit with the predicted mono winds. It only lasted a few hours with extremely high gusts. It stripped shingles off a few buildings. Many huge oaks were blown over and uprooted. Fortunately they narrowly missed all of our vehicles. many people had trees threw their houses. The power out ever since. We are running on generator. Looks like it takes 8-10 gallons of gas per day and we don't run it overnight.

We are in central California foothills. It is a strong east wind similar to the Santa Anna winds they have in southern California. Mono is east of us on the other side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. We are near Yosemite which also suffered a lot of damage and is closed.
