Some type of cap that goes on trim somewhere but where is it from ? Snaps in place covers something I would magine .

That is a good idea.
It looks like once it pops into the hole it would be difficult to remove with fingers.
Did autos with the new fangled electric starters still come with a crank and crank hole just in case, for a time?

Definite , the Ihc trucks in the 50’s could be hand cranked. Just like the tractors.
