Transmission Codes

After the discussion below, I checked my tractors.1850 is 191 621 428; 1550 with high speed transmission is 169 175 502; the other 1550 is196 365 504; and the 1655 is 226 067 452. So did they use a different transmission code for different models of tractors? The list posted only had 400 numbers, only the 1655 has a code that's listed on the chart. Where can I find the codes for other models? My Row Crop 88 is 4 504 136, did they have transmission codes for older models? I should add that the 1850 will run 18 mph according to the speedometer, it has 18.4 x34 rears, both 1550's have 15.5 x38 and the 1655 has 16.9 x34 rears. Thanks, Chris

super99, yes each model had it's own transmission code. I got a code list from a former Branch House employee. The list covers everything from the Fleetline tractors to the White 4-270. The list is 8 pages long.
The Fleetline codes started with C88 or 77 or 66, there are 12 codes for the 88.

Talk about a can of worms. Some years back I sent for the build cards for my 1850 and 1655 which also included sheets with the build card codes. I'm going to list some numbers from those sheets.
The 1850 sheet says: Oliver "50 Series" Build Card Numbers. There are 37 different transmission codes, covering all models from 1550 thru 2150.
My 1850 transmission code is 427. You say yours is 428. The sheet says:
427 Standard Speed 1750 RC
428 Hi Speed 1750 RC
Go halfway down the list and I find:
557 Standard Speed 1850 RC
558 Hi Speed 1850 RC
Confused yet ?
On that same sheet:
502 Hi Speed 1550 RC
504 Standard Speed 1550 RC

From the "1655 Build Card Codes" which has 12 transmission codes.
Your 1655 code is 452. Mine is 490.
452 7/40 Bevels with hydraulics and/or PTO. (Looking at the 50 Series sheet it says: 452 Standard Speed 1650 RC )
490 7/40 Bevels with hydraulics and/or PTO, two wheel drive
I'm tempted to think that your tractor was made about the time of the change over from 1650 to 1655 except that the serial numbers say that your tractor was made two years later than mine.

Overall, about as clear as mud.

I went to the serial number page on this site. I found the numbers for all except the 1655. As you scroll down, it lists 1600, 1650 and then jumps to 1750 and 1755. Not sure what year the 1655 is. It was listed as a 1971 on the sale when I bought it, not sure it that is correct.
