Have you ever ran a Shaper?

Have a 14" "Prima" shaper here that gets used occasionally. Tooling is cheap, same as lathe cutters. Makes a nice finish on metal and wood. Have an old "Taylor & Fenn" mill I picked up cheap last fall. Tooling for that looks like it would lighten the coffers pretty quickly. I do see why mills...

    Monday Mystery

I think it's what was known as a "Deering Knotter". New Holland and John Deere use them. Not sure who bought the patent or who has it now. Good knotter and not hard to figure out.

    Tractor Club Harvest Photos ....

When we did stooks (six bale around here), you'd try not to leave them in any small gullys where rain might pool, even briefly. My one uncle liked them in a rows across the field, less walking when loading them. Might explain the extra bales. My Grandfather used to drop the bales then go around...

    Poll or old members

Whoops, I posted as a reply to Traditional Farmer's post but it doesn't show what he wrote, which is "been here since '98 or '99". I don't post much (or too much??lol) but benefited numerous times from advice given here.

Lets see what you use as a log skidder

Wallenstein fx 85 on the back of a 1959 Ferguson FE35. Good combination for the trees I cut which are mostly hardwoods 16" and under at the butt. Just got it a year ago last fall. Dunno how I got along without it. Used to use the back blade but this is way easier and faster.
