    Super 88 Help

Saskoliver, It looks like there were two different levers for the series three hydraulic unit. It is a little harder to track when the changes were mads since the parts are identified by hydraulic unit serial numbers not tractor serial number. The hydraulic serial number is on the aluminum base...

    Oliver ID help request

Saskoliver, The improved Supers came out in 1957. The improvements were red wheels, large battery cover, 12 volt and key start. There are probably others but these are the most obvious.

    Oliver identification

    A. M. Aitkins, that clamp is to hold a hydraulic cylinder. When hydraulics lift implements were first getting started some farmers kept the cylinder with the tractor instead of leaving it on the implement.

    Oliver identification

Yes the parts books show it available at serial number 120001. I don't think there were hydraulics on all the tractors in 1947 so the early tractors would have used the mechanical shift lever. It was available on both Row Crop and Standard models.

Floyd County Museum in Charles City Iowa

Everyone who needs manuals for their tractors should consider the Floyd County Museum in Charles City, Iowa. A young man recently posted a video of his tour of the museum. The staff at the museum showed him everything they have connected with Hart-Parr, Oliver, White, Cockshutt and Minneapolis...

    Super Series Production Numbers

I have looked at the build card information. Build cards started with the Super series. Before the build cards, records were kept in a book like the later summary sheets. The summary sheets had the same information as the build cards but it was in a book marked at the end of the assembly line...

Oliver 1555 originally intended for South Vietnam

There was some discussion on one of the Oliver Facebook pages that this tractor might have been held at the factory for a while as a yard tractor. It has several updates from the Vietnam tractors. A serial number search at the Floyd County Museum would clear up some of the questions.

    Transmission Codes

super99, yes each model had it's own transmission code. I got a code list from a former Branch House employee. The list covers everything from the Fleetline tractors to the White 4-270. The list is 8 pages long. The Fleetline codes started with C88 or 77 or 66, there are 12 codes for the 88.

    Case/ Oliver merger

JohnRowehl IT may have been in the HPOCA magazine three times, July/August 2009, July/ August 1999 and it appears to have been printed in February of 1991. I have read some different information in other articles.

    Case/ Oliver merger

Randy, that is a new on e to me, but I am always finding something different to make a guy think. I just read an article by Mr. Tallman from an early HPOCA magazine about White's buyout of Oliver.

    Case/ Oliver merger

Oliver was in trouble during the late 1950's. The Oliver management had probably tried too hard to get bigger in hopes of making profits. Another interesting possible merger partner was Studebaker in 1959. In my opinion White and their money came along at the right time.

    Oliver 77 Sealed Beam Worklight

The 3 digit tractors used a sealed beam light. Someone may have found a sealed beam that fits in the old housing.

    Oliver 77 Sealed Beam Worklight

This is the bulb that was used on the early Fleetlines. I don't think sealed beams came until later. Korves and Steiner carry the bulb.
