Work on the narrow front WD steering continues...

So yeah, got the old narrow front WD jacked up and blocked up to take the front spindle apart to see if we can't fix some of the wobble... Seems like there's some wear going on in the lower casting... Also rebuilding the front hubs while I've got it torn down and getting new rubber...

Finally got a chance to disc up my fall sod plowing with the WD

Hoping we get a bit of rain so maybe I can hit it one more time with the disc just before we plant.

Finally got a chance to disc up my fall sod plowing with the WD

Thanks, yeah that was quite a bit of bumping and sliding and my front wheels not going where I wanted them to. But very happy with how this disc handled all the clumps and clods. I only did three passes but am pretty happy with the result.

Finally got a chance to disc up my fall sod plowing with the WD

Plowed up some fresh sod last fall for a pumpkin patch for some of my relatives' kiddos. Just got done discing it up today, took three passes but came out pretty good. I was concerned with how rough the first pass was. Video: Pictures:

Trying to figure out a D17 hydraulic issue...

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Any oil recommendations for filling if it is low? Just standard Hy-Trans these days?

How many people still fill a grease gun by hand, from a 5 gal pail? Pushing grease to the bottom of the gun with a flat piece of wood. Stan

I still have 2 gallons in the last 5 gallon pail grandpa had for doing this... I use it to grease the plow with a brush anymore though, so it has lasted me a long time.

Trying to figure out a D17 hydraulic issue...

So I've got a buddy who has a D17 that he doesn't know a ton about. It has a front end loader, and it runs. Apparently the front loader works just fine, but he has a rear blade for it but when he puts it on, it won't lift the blade up off the ground. He tells me several years ago it used to...

    Allis Mower

I never found new blades for mine but was able to sharpen it back on the mower itself. If this one is the same, it seems like quite a bear to get the blade off, as the castle nuts are pointed up and not much clearance for an impact or breaker bar... [/img:199f848ec5]

Plowed up some sod with the old WD yesterday

IaLeo -- Thank you. I don't get to do it often, but it is a lot of fun to take grandpa's old WD and get into the dirt. flying belgian -- Thanks! super99 -- Yeah I don't quite "get" youtube shorts... Mark-Mi -- Sure does! Gave her quite a workout. Traditional Farmer -- Yeah only a few...

Plowed up some sod with the old WD yesterday

Plow was greased up from last year, but I haven't tried to roll any sod in a long time... Had to go in 1st gear wide open as I was losing traction in 2nd even with ballast, but pretty happy with the result. Will disc it down in the spring. Never tried to upload a youtube short...

A few pics from the Jacksonville IL Steam Show

Glad ya'll liked the photos. And glad you didn't hurt yourself DPittmann, I'd have helped you sling those weights but seemed to be working good with 2 people; would not want to try it by myself though!

A few pics from the Jacksonville IL Steam Show

Allis was the featured tractor brand this year, and a few families brought quite a fleet out to the show. I had to work Friday so I couldn't bring my fixed up WD to the show sadly. Sorry if I missed any of ya'll there, I ran into DPittmann at the tractor pull but looked around to see if...

'53 Allis WD Shifter Casting -- Sideways "1"

So was out running my WDs around yesterday, and I remembered a post from facebook about someone saying their crooked shifter had a sideways one on it. Well my 136XXX S/N crooked shifter tractor is vertical like normal. However, my 141XXX S/N crooked shifter tractor has the sideways "1" on it...
