    new-old favorite Case implement.

THanks, I see they have 2 thicknesses. I am pretty sure i have the 3/8". I am 73 so mine will probably last until I quit doing it, but it is good to know if spares are out there. When you type in Case 602 cutter you get responses but am leary as it fits Case and IH, which isn't likely unless...

    new-old favorite Case implement.

I have a big garden and to avoid too much weeding I am big on cover crops on part of a garden I stick a plant in (as opposed to rowcrop seeding). Due to a very dry fall, it all went wonky this year. My oats/pea fall crop lay in the ground and came up this spring. My rye/vetch for over winter...

    311b parts

Someone in Holden Mo, just posted on facebook he is parting out a 311b. Hood and grill gone, motor froze. Most everything else appears to be there and in good shape including tires and weights. Has 3pt instead of eagle hitch. Not mine. I don't know the guy

Is there a way to determine what my 300 is?

My steering box leaks so I put JD cornhead grease in it after gear oil leaked out. A great improvement in ease of stearing compared to gear oil.

putting aftermarket seat on a 311

Any chance you could post a picture of it? I am curious as to how it sits. Thanks.

putting aftermarket seat on a 311

My 311 with the easy ride seat needs rebuilding. RIght now it has air-ride with a basket ball under it. I know Saeli has the donuts, but I put one of those universal aftermarket seats on my Ford 2000 and really like it because of the back rest and arm rests. I can get one for about what it...

    case t6 spreader

Thanks. The info will help. THere is an older NH nearby as well with same issues. Both are ground Drive, which is what he wants.

    case t6 spreader

I know this might be better on implement page but Case guys know best. Is it hard/expensive to replace the floor on a case t-6 spreader. Rest of the unit looks good from the pictures. Neighbor wants one for his small herd. I saw this one but could use advice.

    vac wiring

I ain't screwing around. I went with 10gauge. I was disking for a neighbor about 1/2 mi away when the tractor died and I smelled smoke. Once I got the wire free away from a ground source, I drove home rather than risk it stalling again. Tractor is smarter than me. We were home 20 min when it...

    VAC Case hard steering

A true 1950 would have different steering than the 14 (mid 51 on). That said, a lot of above said is true no matter what steering. I will say my 300 leaked regular gear oil out of the pedestal so I put in John Deere Corn head grease. It is thick enough you have to gun it in, but there was a...

    vac wiring

I was using my VAC hard today disking. After about an hr and 1/2 it quit. After a few minutes I started it and it ran ok and quit again. This time, I noticed a puf of smoke from the area between the dash and battery. Turns out the 73 year old wiring is toast. Two places where it is completely...

Source of a 3 Post (correct) starter solenoid.

Did you try switching the wire from one small post to the other? Second post is supposed to send extra voltage at start to the coil, but isn't really needed. The wire to the small post should go back to the ignition switch. I had a similar deal on my tractor and it was because the small wire...

VAI Case - Only 2-3 PSI Oil Pressure

I also had a 351 that had low pressure at idle according to the gauge. I took the gauge tube loose at the block and the oil shot out about 2 ft at idle. Old timer told me I had plenty.

VAI Case - Only 2-3 PSI Oil Pressure

That said, those tractors don't have much pressure at idle. Mine had 10 but that is the high side I have been told. They only came with a 30lb gauge so that tells you something. I think maybe 15 lb at high rpm

VAI Case - Only 2-3 PSI Oil Pressure

Bingo! that is us usually the problem. It often stays in the filter. Assuming yours is missing, you can do a quick check of oil pressure by putting a golf tee in the hole. If that fixes the problem you can make a tube, or you can just leave the t in. I don't think those filters do much...

World War 2 ad from a Chevrolet/Case dealer

I know Case made some tractors in 44 as I had a 44 SC. My understanding tractors were not quite as restricted in manufacturing as ag was a big part of the war effort.

    Ford 600 Series Engine Rebuild

How far are you from Kansas City. There is a shop there that only does cylinder heads, but they do a good job.

    weird

I ran it today with new belt up to operating temperature as I was checking my heat gauge on the tractor vs a hand held one with a probe. I did not see any smoke. anywhere. I will watch carefully the nex time and feel the generator and wiring.

Thanks. That is what it seemed like to me, but didn't even know if that was possible!
