white 2-70 Field Boss fuel injection return lines

I have been giving my neighbor a hand cleaning the fuel system on the waukeshha 283 and found the return line plastic fittings have disintegrated and need to be replaced or jury-rig a new system as a replacement. Can't seem to find replacement parts on line or on YT's store. Maybe I am not...

yearend review of new Kubota MX6000

I semi retired my MF65 gas after 42 years of hobby farm use and replaced it with a new MX6000 mainly because I am creeping up there in age (79) and wanted power steering, faster hydraulics and getting rid of the clutch. The Kubota fit the bill in those areas. What I liked about the 65 that the...

IHI NX30 mini excavator morning hard start

I have been trying to help my neighbour diagnose a no start problem with his mini hoe with an Isuzu model 3ld1 diesel engine. This only occurs on the first start in the morning and requires a short sniff of ether to make it happen. Once started it will run fine and stop and start for the rest of...

how to untangle a balled up chain harrow

I have a neighbour ask me how to untangle his chain harrow that he purchased last year and it was delivered all balled up. I have never let mine get into that position because I know they are heavy and awkward to handle. He has tried different methods like hanging them off the fel but again...

    tire chains

how effective is putting tire chains on just the front wheels on a 4X4 tractor. The tractor is hst drive and front wheels are smaller than the rear wheels. Just thinking ahead for this winter as I have always had to put chains on my rear wheels in the past for my driveway which is mostly 7 to 9...

    second hay cut

Cut it on Friday afternoon and baled it on Sunday afternoon. Alfalfa grass mix. Due to extreme heat weather this past few weeks and continuing, the growth was stunted so only got 150 bales off of the 7 acres total in three fields. Oh well, that's why it is a hobby farm.

    More thinning of the herd

This time it's the 1948 Cub leaving. Bought and restored it in 1996. Have two more units to find homes for, a JD60 orchard and a 1949 JDMC. I have always enjoyed the restoration part of owning old tractors more so than having them kept in storage and attending displays. Also I am creeping up...

    more thinning of the heard

Saying goodbye to the JD1010U that I restored 20 years ago. Going to a nice home where it will be put to work as it should be. I had my fun restoring it. It went with the brush hog, rear blade and tire chains.

first hay cut with the new Kubota

This is the earliest in the last 30 years for taking off the first cut, mainly because of a good weather window. Not the best growth but got it done with only one breakdown, lost the GIB key in the pickup reel but luckily found it with a metal detector!!! Had to realign the equipment hitches to...

    I retired my MF65

After 40 years of good reliable service it is relegated to more minor duties. Taking its place is a new Kubota MS6000. I know I won't be around to see 40 years on it but in the meantime it is going to fun having power steering, four wheel drive and faster hydraulics. Looking forward to it.

    what is this used for

I was told years ago that it was a tool used by GM mechanics when removing a transmission for torque tube drive cars. It would pull the whole rear end assembly back enough to clear the transmission without having to drop the rear end..Does that make sense? Leon
