Helping friend on his 2000 3 cyl that is pushing coolant out the overflow. He believes the tractor was ran hot while loaned to a family member. After the tractor was returned to him he noticed that it was losing coolant out the overflow. He removed the head and it appeared to have a blown head gasket. Took head to machine shop and had it checked for cracks. Shop says they found no cracks. Replaced head with new head gasket and I set the valves for him and we started it. After warming up it is still pushing coolant out. Anyone with ideas on what else to look for?

How full is he filling it? If you overfill the radiator it will push coolant out without actually overheating. He needs to fill it to about 1" over the top of the internal core tubes of the radiator and leave the top of the radiator head filled with air. That way the air will compress as the pressure rises without actually forcing any coolant out of the overflow tube.

Thanks Sean, we did fill it almost full. After letting it run for a while it is just above the tubes. We may run it some more tomorrow and she what happens.
