Those were sold at gift shop places they were everywhere in the early 90s more of an outdoor decoration type piece

Grandma gave me one for Christmas several years back. She ordered it from a catalog. Pretty common item.

The later ones were missing some letters. They weren't licensed by Mother Deere and were ordered to stop using the name, so they just dropped some of the letters out.

Mine is green and yellow with no markings on the hood. It is cast iron and appears to be arc welded together. Very heavy. Does have a Made in China tag on the bottom.

A lot of them were John Deer OP Instead of John Deere GP
