New Idea 218 Manure Spreader Skipping

Good afternoon
I’ve a recently purchased 218 Spreader.
Works on lowest speed unloaded. Even higher speeds. But when loaded will skip.
Replaced with new pawl.
Any suggestions?

Watch while operating under load. Check for looseness of Pawl arm bushing (12) and if Main apron shaft bushings are too loose (shaft going up and down}

Lok for dirt in the ratchet teeth they will skip if the teeth are full. And of course like the others said loose bushing and worn ratchet pawl bushing. check the slats are straight in the bottom so the apron is set straight in it. IOF that worn also check the front slide for the apron chan. They will wear out and grab the cain. We just used a piece of pipe about 2-3 inches drilled a hole in it and welded a flat piece for the side bolts and worked fine. Look at the spindle bolt underneath to see if it is worn in the hole in the axle if so change the bolt as it is about to break and let the axle shaft come out .Don't ask how I know.
