won't keep running

I have a John Deere 4010 with a rebuilt injector pump. It will start and run for a few minutes and dies as if starved for fuel. The fuel line to the injector pump was disconnected and engine cranked to confirm fuel getting to the injector pump. The tractor will start and sound good for a short time then the RPM will drop and die.
FYI The tractor was just reringed and head rebuilt.

Any trouble shooting advice is greatly appreciated.

Make sure your return line from the pump with the check valve is open and flowing and that the fuel tank is squeaky clean, the filters are new and that there's no water in the fuel
tank. Drain off the valve at the bottom of the tank and observe the drainage for water.

Sounds EXACTLY like a plugged return line back to the tank.
Confirm by running until engine slows down, the quickly
loosen the two screw timing cover on pump side. If engine
runs OK WITH the fuel leak, but slows/dies with cover tight its
confirmed, return line back to tank needs removed for
cleaning.

Thanks,

I didn't see or find what was plugging the line but after removing and cleaning all. Including the check valve. The tractor is now running great.
