How have you determined it has a two stage clutch?I purchased a 1962 601 work master with a four speed transmission.
It has a two stage clutch which didn’t know was an option.
It is stamped 641 on engine and has a 4 speed transmission, is this an option from back in the day that didn’t make it to the manuals
Thanks
The 641 from the factory didn't have a 2 stage clutch so only way it could have a 2 stage clutch is if it was modified a whole lot since there is no option for a 4 speed and live PTO from the factoryI purchased a 1962 601 work master with a four speed transmission.

Push the pedal half way down and the transmission disengages , push it the rest of the was down and PTO disengagesHow have you determined it has a two stage clutch?
If that is the case it has been highly modified and maybe hard to find some parts for due to it being a muttPush the pedal half way down and the transmission disengages , push it the rest of the was down and PTO disengages
This is truly an oddity. I have never heard tell of a 4-speed with live PTO. I have no information for you, but perhaps someone else here will. If you find out something about it elsewhere, please post back here with the information, I believe it will be of great interest.Push the pedal half way down and the transmission disengages , push it the rest of the was down and PTO disengages
My thinking is it has the have a transmission from say a 3000 series with live PTO for the double drive shaft set up needed for live PTOThis is truly an oddity. No sir, After 1964 all thousand series transmissions had the starter mounted on the right hand passenger side of the tractor. Before 1965 starter was on the left side. No hard parts interchanged between the two models. My thinking is it has the have a transmission from say a 3000 series with live PTO for the double drive shaft set up needed for live PTO
The picture of the steering stecor and arm is not from any 641, it looks like a mid 40's 8n. I think you have a mutt.I guess I have one in a million, well really about 1 in 200,000
Yeah, there’s pictures of an 8N and a 641 the clean pictures are from the 641 and the dirty ones are from the 8N I was showing that they both had the same shifter four speed transmission. Was trying to show the clutch pedal and the cover differences and likenesses. The picture of the steering stecor and arm is not from any 641, it looks like a mid 40's 8n. I think you have a mutt.
841 4 speed is the same as the 600 serice or 601 series as for how they look and non had live PTO all the 801 and 601 series that where 4 speeds where either the 841 or 641 only the 661 or 861 had the live PTO with 2 stage clutchMaybe it’s an 841 transmission?
