    N series PTO adapter

Is the PTO shaft longer on the replacements as well? I had tried to put a sickle mower on the 8N and the stub was too short and then I realized that it was also too small in dia.

    N series PTO adapter

I'd like to know what opinions are on which PTO adapters are good and which ones are junk and fall apart right away. I have a 47 8N with the original inch and 1/8 PTO shaft that I want to get an adapter for and don't want to buy one that's just going to twist apart in a couple hours.

    8N 3 point hydraulic problems

I recently bought a 47 8N with a Sherman under over. When I bought it the lift arms didn't move when I pulled the draft control but after 5 to maybe 10 seconds the left arms started to lift and I thought okay well this tractor hadn't run in years not a problem. Well I've since done other work to...

    Holder ag3

Thanks that's a really good to know. I've decided that I'm probably going to sell my ag3 here cuz it's not doing anything other then being a cool talking piece and taking up space. So I better go through the injection system and get it ready for sale.

    Ford 4000 SOS

Arthur tractors out of Indiana Pennsylvania specializes in the repair and rebuild of the selectomatic transmissions. When I called him about a '70s $4,000 3 cylinder diesel with a SOS problem he would have been able to replace everything in that transmission 2 years ago so that is who I...

    841D electrical diagram

So it appears I missed the insert for the manifold heaters. Is the manifold heaters switch a push button? When I push the button on the dash the starter solenoid that is wired to it makes a hard click like you get when you turn an ignition key on a vehicle with a bad starter solenoid. The key...

    Ford 3000 timing

I don't know what has all been done to that machine over the years but I'm guessing that at some point the distributor was pull out and placed back in a different position. Pull the spark plug out of the number one cylinder, place a cotton ball in the spark plug hole and roll the engine over by...

    841D electrical diagram

I just got a complete Ford service manual for my 841D and figured I would tackle the mess the po made of the electrical system. Unfortunately the only diagram this manual has for the 172D doesn't do a good job of showing the system and doesn't really label most of the parts. I can't figure out...

    841D making noise

I finally had a couple of minutes a d watched that video, thanks for sharing that. I knew nothing really about these units and thought you could either get an under drive or an overdrive unit. The fact that this unit has under/direct/over is way better than I had ever imagined. I was shifting...

    IH H25 payloader hydraulic issues

I'll take a photo of the serial number here later today. I hope I can get this thing straightened out I don't need a half-working pile of scrapper on my place

    841D making noise

The loader runs off a front mounted pump and the backhoe runs off a rear PTO mounted pump.

    841D making noise

That's really good to know, that really gives me hope that it's the PTO shaft bearings. Now I'm going to have to beg the neighbor to help me unpin and put the backhoe in some kind of cradle.

    841D making noise

Not being familiar with a Sherman under or over unit this may sound silly, but does the unit affect the PTO speed at all? With the lever forward and the PTO on there isn't a noise, but with that lever back it sure sounds like something is about to give. I thought at first that the rear PTO...

    IH H25 payloader hydraulic issues

I recently picked up a pair of h25 payloaders. One of them's just a parts unit the other one I plan on using but it needs some hydraulic work. When I got it there was almost no hydraulic oil in the system. I have filled it up and the lift and tilt cylinders work but have lots of air in them...
