    update on 1850 diesel

I have the valve cover off and don't see anything bent or broken. The only thing I see is the valve tappet gap is a little tight on #6 exhaust.

    update on 1850 diesel

I took the exhaust manifold off and discovered the popping is coming from the rear port, cylinders 5 and 6. I pull the injectors from those cylinders and tested them to be sure, they both sprayed nicely. Where do I go now? Check the valves? What am I looking for? Thanks

    1850 diesel popping

It pops at idle and also smokes when it pops sometimes a little sometimes alot. When I get a chance I'm going to check all the gears that drive the injection pump for play.

    1850 diesel popping

It starts very well, and it will miss or pop at any rpm it just doesn't do it as much at 1000 to 1100. I replaced the lift pump last summer.

I bought this 1850 last spring the previous owner changed all the filters. It had this problem since then I had the manifold off last summer and didn't notice anything unusual. 1850 diesel popping

I have a 1850 diesel that will pop maybe once or twice or three times then run fine a few seconds then do it again. Put it under a load such as driving up a decent hill and it smoothes out and runs fine, also it runs better at 1000 to 1100 rpm. I have put the fuel injection pump and injectors...

What number of plow is this

<image src="http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/photos/mvphoto26598.jpg"/> It is a 4 bottom semi mount dad said grandpa bought used as a 3 bottom and later added the other bottom. The decal says 566 but I found Oliver didn't offer this model in 4 bottom. Hopefully the picture loads Thanks

    1850 diesel high rpm miss

My working 1850 diesel starts to miss sometimes inconsistently at about 2,000 rpms and up until it really loads up. I have had three different injection pumps on it and no change. Any thoughts? Worn injectors or timing gears maybe? Thanks
