    RE: NATPA rule

    If a club is serious about giving all tractors a fare chance they will purchase a MPH display board for the end of the track. No new rules and this will tightens up the compitition and make the pull more interesting for the crowd. But typical of todays society it also helps dumb down the drivers...

    I replaced the narrow front pedistal on my 1940 model A with a light weight single wheel ped with a differance of nearly 200 lbs. It looks like a factory front end. I also found it interesting that a 1940 "A" front end weighs less then a early 40s model "B" front end.

    weight opinions for '45A puller

    Still trying to get the hubs of my A

    Those hubs are a dime a dozen. If yours dont have factory threads in them there not even worth that. Get your torch out and cut em off. Heat your hubs up and spray with a decent penetraiting oil and allow it to sink in over night. Pull the hubs the next day. Good luck.

    build aluminum rims from scratch?

    Has anyone tried to build aluminum rims from scratch? I can buy new aluminum for $1.60 a pound and would like to try building my own 18x38 rims. Has anyone had experience with this?

    Pullman, If your still running all the stock parts on the back half of your A you should be able to drop at least 200lbs.

    Thanks for the encouragement cowguy. We have been working on lightening our model A this winter and have it down to 3300lbs. Includeing a driver and no alluminum. Can not wait to run it.

    If keeping the front down is the major issue, why would'nt a person just lower the hitch untill the tractor balances out?
