    Fuel shutoff on a 620

There are 2 rubber diaphragms inside that thing. You have to drain the fuel out, then take all the lines off,(use a tubing wrench on those little brass fittings from the oil pressure gauge). There are some screws that hold the thing together that you remove, and if you're not careful, the...

So close to turning engine over overhauled engine-advice?

Open up the petcocks to dry out the pistons, and pull the plugs and dry them out. I know this sounds pretty basic, but make sure the spark is going to the right plug at the right time. I had the distributor on mine turned 180 degrees and when I switched the plug wires, off she went. Also try...

    amp gauge question

I have noticed that at the bottom of John Deere amp gauges are letters. (U C, U G, B C, etc.) What do these letters represent, and does it really matter which model tractor the go into? Thanks.

    john deere a battery

I've got a 12 volt battery hooked up to my 6 volt B. Sure turns over faster for starting. I happened to have a 12 volt generator, so I went for it. I realize eventually it will probably burn out the starter, but that dragging 6 volt battery was driving me nuts!

    No heat in Hiniker cab

I assume by the "valve going into the core" you mean the one that's connected to the pull switch on the dash that says "pull for heat"? The only thing I could add is to make sure that your lines are hooked up so that the pressure side of the pump goes into the heater core, and the outlet...

    flywheels balanced question

Sorry, I didn't know where to jump in on the other conversation. If I need to replace the crankshaft on my '49 A, then I should do it with the original flywheel as well, or can I use the old flywheel with a strange crank?

    A leaking fluids internally

Tractor has an oil pressure sediment bowl overhauled just last year. I will admit I didn't check the gas in the tank.

    A leaking fluids internally

I recently changed the oil in my A, and there was at least twice as much as there should have been. I put the whole thing aside for awhile and checked things today. The rear end is full of a watery oil that smells like gasoline. Where to look and what to do.?????
