Starter spins wrong direction..
I have 2 Delco 1107165 6v starters for a 420 430. One spins correctly-CCW. The other spins CW (clokwise)What would cause this and whats the fix? The one that spins CW did not spin at all when received. I installed a new stud, new brush plate w/new brushes, springs etc. Now it spins great but the...- Randy G

shoulda gone to work
The bushing kit I bought from YT fit prefect. I didn't have to make any adjustments. The bushings fit snug in the spindle housing (lightly driven in) and the spindle slid right in without resistance. Child proofing NAA
Thanks. That's my goal. I just want to remove as much chance up front. And keeping other kids I DON'T want on it from getting themselves in trouble is a plus too....- 1954_NAA

shoulda gone to work
I just put a new spindle in my NAA from YT. Took it for a spin today and it held together so far. Going to put it to work tomorrow for a real test. Get the spindle bushing/bearing kit. Also consider the wheel bearings/seals too. You have it off, might as well replace them all. Also, when...- 1954_NAA

Child proofing NAA
Well, I think locking up the kids is by far the best idea, but probably the hardest one to actually implement (but always an option). I had considered a concealed switch, but am going to wait until I start peeling tin back this winter. It's overall pretty straight, so I am hoping to restore it...- 1954_NAA

Child proofing NAA
I just got a 54 NAA this past winter. Have already put it to good use pulling bushes and moving stuff around. Now that I have proved to the wife it is a "tool", and not a "toy" (I'll keep telling her that...) I would like to make sure it doesn't disappear due to curious kiddos (3 & 2)...- 1954_NAA
