    Ford 2000 wont steer

    Hello, first post here. I mainly work on heavy equipment, but got a call to look at a Ford 2000 that wont turn left. Only turns right. From reading, and searching on here, it appears its the upper thrust bearing. Is it a pretty tough job? Any tips? I havent been into one, so have no idea...

    that's what I was looking for thankyou very much. Will there be a ho;e in the fly wheel on the half turn also or just watch the valves on the half turns?

    I need to know how to adjust my valves. I have finished my rebuild and I am not sure the order to adjust valve train. I have # 1 cylinder TDC now what valves do I set before I rotate and set the rest?

    ok now that I know I need to rebuild this motor I need to know what it is to order parts. There is no serial # that I can find the tag is not on the dash. the man I bought it from says its a1951, the tag on the valve cover says its a standard motor co. diesel /Ricardo engineers 1927 motor isee...

    No your right it will not start at all. I pulled the head last night the valves look great but all the rings are broken. Its the old saying it was running when he parked it, but that's ok. I bought it for a project and to have it around the ranch. I'll learn all about it now doing a rebuild on it.

    I used 2 different testers and both came up the same but it will not start at all with this compression. So I got the head off last night and yep the rings are all broken and one hole a piece of the ring came up and chipped the piston. looks like who ever had it last tried to start it on starter...

    what should my 1951 standard motor co. diesel have for compression one hole has around 80 lbs and the other 3 not quit 60 lbs
