    debateing PTO Conversion

    '46 2N. I just replaced mine this last year. Should have done it long ago. The conversion shaft i had to use for my finish mower would never last very long and when I was changing fluids this year had the shaft ordered and ready to insert. Easy changeover.

    piston sleeves

    No problems on ones I put in 2 years ago in my 1946 2N. Runs like a champ. Just need to clean up the carb a bit to get rid of some intermittent sputtering. I put appx 50hrs/yr on mine. Snow removal, mowing and people hauling. Bought from this site.

    I use the PSC 1000 as well. I've strained it and put back in containers sealed for future use.

    I've used the dark gray paint they offered on the site here, but I don't see it in the list right now. Probably still off the coast of Cali. Both Tisco and VanSickle I've use with good results.

    When you say rebuild, do you mean get the rebuild kit that is available here and replace the parts from that kit? There is also an internal assembly available? Or a full governor is even cheaper here than a rebuild kit? My 2N governor housing flange is currently warped and I cannot get it...

    OT - A question for the oil guru's on this board

    The specific heats for 75W90 and 75W140 are different by about .006 BTU/lbF for the range of temps this will be exposed to. This will be insignificant for cast iron and steel in ambient conditions.

    8N with oil in the coolant, how long can we run it this

    Or you might make sure the gas tank is vented well through the cap. Just in case vaporization is taking place in the gas tank.
