4000 3 cyl diesel rear main seal ?
yes, all bolts were in. flywheel runout is good. i'll put the gasket back in, i have a new plate ordered from Wengers in PA. for $16 i could not justify trying to straighten it out. i'm still not sure what bent the plate, but the gasket seems to be a must. thanks. -

4000 3 cyl diesel rear main seal ?
doing a clutch in 4000, replacing the rear main while its apart, there was a cork gasket behind the adapter plate bolted on the rear of the engine. it looks like it has swelled, pushing the plate out and it was rubbing on the flywheel. is this gasket needed in there? i would think if it was not... -

John Deere starter
had a friend with the same trouble, put two batteries on it and broke the nose cone on the starter. he now has two marks on his mag, a start timing position and a farther advanced run position. starter couldnt fight the fire in the cylinder on the advanced timing. just a thought. also, is your...- 2strk2cyl

This is hopefully my last snow plowing video...
i'm all about enjoying the old iron since farming with them is no longer practical, but i think its time for an old beater truck and plow with a heated cab. but i guess thats one way to get the old girl out and stretch her legs in the off-season. try to stay warm!- 2strk2cyl

ford 4610 hyd fluid check
replaced the leaking brake boots on this 4610, now i cant find the check plug, seems i run into this on every ford tractor i help work on. i can not find a square headed pipe plug on the hyd res. there is a flat head slotted bolt behind the rear support of the RH foot plate. it was reasonably... -

wow, i'll admit defeat. square head, pipe thread, right side of tractor just like the utilities. in my defence, the park brake linkage covers the plug so well, i had to remove it to get a wrench to the plug. also, just to stir the pot. Deere's use dipsticks!!!! normally labled! thanks for all... -

there is absolutly no square headed plugs on the hyd housing, there are also no pipe thread holes that someone had put an allen plug in. all of the plugs are hex head with washers under the head. -

fed up with 960 hyd top cover
