New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Thanks for the info Jim.ME! I'm not finding anything for the 144813M1. I've emailed Agco as their download/purchase site is no longer working as such. I was planning to order this manual from Peaceful Creek...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

I can do that. A couple of questions to go along with detailed temp information: - What temp is the thermostat, or what should it be. - What is the max sustained temp before things get concerning?

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

When I’ve been running the tractor so far it has been under no/minimal load. Not working any implements, just idling or driving around. That may be the reason it’s not getting up to a high temp. It’s hard to convey what the temperature is since the gauge is just a needle with two endpoints...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

It seems that a few of my latest posts have disappeared. I’ll repost info again. Tractor is running quite nice at this point. Most recent update: - Pressure washing complete. 80% improvement, not perfect, but much nicer to work on. Mouse apartment complexes removed. - Points...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Does anyone have an oil filter canister, bolt, spring, and washer they would part with? Someone was very heavy handed with mine at some point and crushed the end of the canister inward. The seal under the bolt head now leaks because it's trying to seal on a large angled surface rather than a...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

I used some purple Ecolab Industrial Degreaser from Home Depot. It worked ok, but not miracles by any means. I think a hot water pressure washer would be great for melting the grime away. The pressure wash job got the grime off in most of the areas I want to work and in general it's much...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Today's update: When I cleaned the carb last time I had to put it back together with all of the same parts/gaskets because the rebuild kit hadn't been delivered yet. Now that I have the kit I pulled the carb off again and replace the needle/seat, throttle plate shaft seal/bushing, and bowl...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Could someone let me know what the static and advance timing is? Just want to have that info ready as I'll hopefully get some of this other work complete and move on to the ignition soon. Thanks.

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Ok, latest update. I have not installed the ignition components yet. I replaced the sediment bowl and fuel line. No more leaks. After that, it fired right up and would run at various rpm's. Current issue though is that to keep it running i have to choke it for a couple of seconds and then...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Wowsers, not much activity here these days. I was able to start and run the tractor with some Cosby Sauce. I was surprised at how well it ran. I need to replace the leaking sediment bowl/shutoff and the determine what the fueling issue is. Still going to get the electrical parts replaced...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Ignition parts arrived. I'll get them swapped this weekend. A few questions, hopefully someone can chime in. - What should the gap be for Autolite 386 plugs? - Does the brass elbow with strainer going into the (Marvel Schebler) carb use a 45deg flare on the tube side? - Steel or Stainless...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

Ok, back with some updates and more questions. Todays was the day. Everything was ready. All of the fluids topped off, battery was charged, new fuel was in the tank. I opened the petcock on the fuel strainer and then noticed it was leaking a small amount. Not a bid deal at the moment, I...

New to me MF 135 - need advice on getting it running

I had no idea these carburetors were cast steel. That thing is heavy! I got it cleaned and run through the ultrasonic and reassembled. The fuel strainer was also cleaned up and a new filter and gasket installed. The power steering fluid is very low. What's the recommended fluid? ATF?
