    110 round fender transmission issue

I have a 110 round fender that actually has a couple issues going on. This was my grandpa's mower he bought new and my daughter has an interest in it, I think mostly because it looks like my 4010. Anyway, the first one is it occasionally jumps out of second gear. When I got it the trans was...

    Is this a wives tail?

Salt is a natural antiseptic, that's why meat was preserved with it, it killed the mold and bacteria leaving the meat suitable to eat. The salt is doing the same thing for the cows by killing the bacteria that is causing the pinkeye. I'm sure it's painful, but has to be better than having pinkeye.

Looking for information on the 4230

I've never been around a 4230, but have used several 44/4630's and still own a 4430. It's hard to define what is too many hours on one, as we all know on any tractor of that age it all comes down to how it was maintained. As far as I know there are no real common weak points to them. I do...

    no complaints tractor

Once the intake and exhaust piping got moved from the hood to other areas like a 60 series Deere then the front post becomes a nuisance. I don't notice the post as much on the earlier ones as there was a muffler there anyway. Even the 986 has the exhaust coming out of the hood and is in that...

    no complaints tractor

I always find it funny how people will complain about the front post in a soundgaurd cab, but magically the muffler coming through the hood of any other brand is OK even when it's still in the line of sight. For the time they were a quiet solid cab. It took some work, but the AC still works in...

    2020 gas dislikes negative 25

I have used that method on my 4010 gas. Those long skinny batteries are a joke. Synthetic oil, new starter and cables, along with a group 31 battery are on its list before next winter.

Ideas to prevent fogging in 4440 cab

Run the AC like svcummins said. The drains and heater core are good in my 4430, and if I don't run the AC at the same time it fogs the glass in no time. AC equipped cars do the same thing when you run the defrost it cycles the AC compressor to act as an air drier.

4020 vs early 4430 rear end / differential

I need to proof read better. I meant to say I don't know anyone that has had an issue with those differentials.

4020 vs early 4430 rear end / differential

I personally know of anyone that has had an issue with the differentials in any of those models. But as far as the 4430's go, the factory must have felt they were a weakness and it think s/n 38000 was the break for the updated differential. I would think if it's lasted this long it must be OK...

    Shelling corn

I'm not a BTO by any means, but in my case usually working by myself it's a result of thinking "I can make it to the end", and I don't before I hear the sound of seeds on the cab. In the videos you are seeing it's most likely a "it's not my fault, the cart wasn't back I time" mentality.
