    D connecting rod shims

    I have some NOS connecting rod shims. I thought I had some older and some newer D rod shims. However the ones I thought were new have the two bolt holes closer together than the older ones. Is this correct, or are these newer shims actually from a G?

    How in thunderation do you get the steering wheel off of a 316? I tried penetrant, heat from a heat gun almost enough to melt the plastic, and a 3 jaw puller on the outside of the wheel that I turned so tight I thought sure I'd break the plastic, and pounded on the puller shaft, but no cigar.
