    Gushing gear oil

Final result: A small pin hole in the side of the filter was spewing oil like a gusher. New filter just arrived. Thanks for all your comments.

What filter number do I need? Are they easy to get?

    Gushing gear oil

I see a line that looks good but there appears to be an oil filter of some sort. If it is leaking that would explain why it leaks when the engine is running. The top of the brake housing is wet.

    Gushing gear oil

My 1850 gas has not run for well over a year and I'm reviving it now. There are no leaks under the tractor but when I start the engine it starts gushing brown oil from just over the left brake drum. I assume it is gear oil. Can someone tell me what might be happening. are there hydraulic brakes...

    Broken and stuck sediment bowl

I tried the Freeze-Off and BINGO! A couple of sprays, wait a minute, then with a small pipe wrench it broke loose. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Broken and stuck sediment bowl

I'm trying to remove a clogged sediment bowl and in the process have snapped off the outlet on the bowl. It will not budge. I'm suspecting that the previous owner had a hard time installing it as all the edges are stripped and a 3/4 inch wrench will not grab onto it. I'm then thinking he may...

    Mower blades

On my zero turn mower I have 3 rotating blades. When I was sharpening them yesterday I noticed there was a large build up of clippings above the center blade on the deck above it, whereas, above the other 2 blades there was considerably less build up. So when I attached the sharpened blades I'm...

    Bad switch?

SOLVED I heated the solenoid and starter and BINGO, everything now works. I've been moving a lot of snow so I guess some moisture got in somewhere it wasn't supposed to be. Thanks to all the replies and ideas about testing voltages.

    Bad switch?

Because there is no buzzing, maybe it's something to do with the oil warning buzzer. I will also put some heat onto the starter.

    Bad switch?

I now believe that the problem is the safety switch as I'm not getting any buzzing like I used to. I think it is the cause of the voltage drain. Where is this switch located and what does it look like?

    Bad switch?

I've got a good battery with cleaned connections in my Oliver 550/Cockshutt 2-44LL and it will not power the starter. When i turn the key it gives a slight sound but it is not the solenoid clicking. I measure the voltage at the solenoid when turning the key to be 6.1 volts, so it seems that the...
