    You might want to add some reamers to your wish list also. This my steam engine project,maybe 20 dollars in bras fittings,the rest was just scrap iron.

    The sides of the piston seem very shiny, and yes the bottom has a grove in it. I have no lapping compond, do you think NAPA or a parts store would have any. Thanks Bob

    I think I should have 18 to 34lbs. If I loosen the pipe on top of the valve there seems to be good volume.

    Just a follow up to let everybody know that the problem was in the head, had to replace it.. Along with the cracked flywheel. So thank you to everyone.

    Intake gasgets looked fine, matings serface looked fine. exhaust mating is a little pitted but ok. the next step was to remove the head. Took it into a machine shop to get checked out.     I removed the intake and exhaust manifolds and did see anything wrong there, filling one intake passage at a time with gas and checking for leeks not finding any I pressureized the intake to be sure. Should be ok. I took some pictures of the head after it was off. <image...

    Swapped side to side then bought a set of autolight 3116. Still have this rough running 60..

    Yes you can notice a difference by adjusting the idle screws. If you remove spark plug wire 2 at idle it seems to fall on its face, still seems to fire but real week pop compared to removing plug wire 1 and running on just cylinder 2.
