Super C - hydraulic pump - couple of questions...

Took one of the middle busters off the cross bar yesterday and still would not lift without some assistance - no more shaking while going back down. Any ideas?

Super C - hydraulic pump - couple of questions...

So - bought a used pump of E-pay to find out that the reason one of the housing bolts was missing is because the housing was stripped. Took old pump and newly bought pump to a hydraulic repair place and they were able to make one pump out of the two. Old pump shaft (as seem above) was toast...

Super C - hydraulic pump - couple of questions...

Thanks all for the help. This tractors days of hard field work are over, but I will probably start using it to grade a gravel road on new property just acquired so will be needing the hydraulics. I know there are new pumps available here, but would anyone have any other suggestions...

Super C - hydraulic pump - couple of questions...

The shaft runs true - outside of gear is changing its position - in photo above, high side is on the left, low side on the right.

Super C - hydraulic pump - couple of questions...

Thanks for the reply. The shaft itself spins centered - it is the gear itself that seems to be off center on the shaft. Photo below shows the difference in the inner gap on the gear to the shaft.

Super C - hydraulic pump - couple of questions...

Finally gotten around to getting the shaft seal for my Super C, and now that I have the pump off - got a few questions. The generic shop manuals are no help so wanted to post it here. Got lock washer and nut off the drive gear but gear will not budge - need a puller for this and then will it...

5.00-15 Front Tires in Higher Ply Rating?

If you are not worried about looks, my grandfather used to take another tire and put it over the tires mounted on the wheels - gives you an extra couple of layers. Good luck.

    Two old work horses

Both these were worked on by my Uncle Denson - truck was known about since a friend bought it in 1965. Was a farm truck until 1988 - Denson restored it in 1993. Tractor was bought in the mid-90s - history unknown but I know it was from somewhere in the Milam county area of Texas - he was still...

want to change 1st gear to make tractor go slow

That might be an idea - use the tractor for what it was originally designed for. A complete set of cultivators and a disc will do exactly what you can do with a rototiller. Throw in something like a middle buster to start, you can get down pretty deep and turn some dirt.

    Draw bar receiver hitch

Got it - ended up at Tractor Supply. Bought their 12" receiver blank, 2 3/4 inch bolts and hardware. Friend across the road has an industrial size drill press that we knocked two 3/4 inch holes in the tube. Tube fit perfectly over the draw bar and gave enough room for the hitch to slide in...

    Draw bar receiver hitch

Exactly what I ended up doing. Friend across the road has a BA drill press we will use on Monday. Weight will not be a problem if I mount the middle busters on the old SC... Thanks

    Draw bar receiver hitch

The only intended use for this is to move empty trailers. That is why I would like to have something with a receiver on it so the ball size could be changed with the pull of a pin. Thanks for the help.

    Draw bar receiver hitch

Draw bar itself is not that wide - to get a 2 1/4 ball size hole would leave little meat on each side. The swing part of the DB on the SC is right under the rear of the axle which means the pivot point would be right under the rear, cutting down on the ability to make tighter turns. Thanks...
