    There's alot of stupid tractor pullers out there.

    I think the overage is crap anyway. It probably all started because one guy had a naked tractor 30lb to heavy to get in a class. I think 5000 should be 5000. That might end some arguements.

    radial or bias

    I never thought much difference on radials untill I pulled on a wet track one night. Most people were having a hard time even moving the sled, but I made a full pull. Second place tractor was 81 feet behind me. That was 18.4/34 firestone radials in the 7000lb class.

    As far as that goes he can bolt a 504 in the 830. Fact of the matter is both can be capable pullers and both can be turned into beast. The real question is which one would you and your son rather spend the time and money on to do so. Sure is nice to see something different at the pulls than what...

    Case 2290 puller

    They have a good motor, and will run even better with more fuel and air. I would run some 18.4 38 radials or maybe even some 20.8. I believe it came with 34's from the factory. Should be a capable farm stock puller.

    Farmall 460 vs Case 830 Puller

    I would rather have a longer stroke 4 cylinder over a shorter stroke 6 cylinder if both engines are the same cubic inch. Just my opinion

    I would do the 830 with a 336 out of a 870. If your rules allow it I would turbo the 336.

    Yes the rear end is the same. I to would do a 336.
