Is it possible to switch a side mount 8N block to a front mount setup?

The way things are with parts these days you might be better off having your clutch rebuilt. Set up a dial caliper on the block where you can rotate the three fingers underneath it to set for a smooth operating clutch.

No, don't like nor appreciate unwarranted smart nnalert comments. I don't make them nor accept them.

1965 D15 Power Steering And Governor

💩💩💩check the adjustment of the governor linkage, as this is many times what is wrong: Engine OFF. Hand throttle wide open. Remove left hood. Above the generator is the governor linkage. Remove the cotter pin from the carburetor link rod and let the link rod drop out of the governors cross arm...

1965 D15 Power Steering And Governor

Hello, it's a gas engine. It sat for a while before I bought it. Just bought it to lift materials up and let trash down from my roof. After a while of putting around the house a couple of problems developed. Gradually the engine speed got to where RPM's are all in just under ¼ throttle and it...

He used the front mount distributor. Did he also have to swap the camshaft?

I had a 40 with a 51 engine. I think just the generator brackets were made. It was complete when I bought it.

    Installing a turbocharger on a 9 n ford

The 9N is almost a 2 liter maybe the low rpm demand would turn the choke point into just right. There are online calculators that will get you close. I used one from a Mopar man. Forget his site. It got me close when scavenging for parts when I set up a little 352 tow rig. When I was looking for...

    Two Ford 9n’s

Hello from down the road. Does your 40' have the transmission dip stick forward of the fill plug in the shift cover?

    Installing a turbocharger on a 9 n ford

I have not searched the article the late Dell mentioned. However I am a fan of belt driven power al low RPM's. Never blown a flathead myself, I just watch the fellows with money do it. Seems the best way to equally atomize fuel and overcome the choke points. Anyone running a 9/2N with the 454...

1950-51 8N whim purchase **OH BOY! IM IN TROUBLE**

Your cast iron carb might be able to be freed up soaking in distilled vinegar. If you are set on running that aluminum carburetor you would be best off tearing I down and drilling all the passages to match the cast iron one. I did that to my aluminum carb'd 40 with a borrowed cast iron...

    Funk 8N Water Pump.....?

Crow Horse, is FIL your friend in love? I couldn't figure that acronym. EDIT: It occurred to me after the fact. Father-in-law

    Funk 8N Water Pump.....?

Referring to Jim's post, keep the housing, bearing and press true. As I recall the ones I have done were fairly flat and thick housings. If you get ahold of an odd shaped pump with a thin housing you may be better off going to someone who deals with that pump. Chances are they'll remember how to...

    Funk 8N Water Pump.....?

Have a bunch of sockets on hand. I haven't done my 226 yet but have done several others. It should be the same type seal/sleve combo that presses in. I stack the sockets within .010" of the seals natural resting place. Some offer a tool. Take some time and measure everything to get it back where...

Pulled starter out, to see broken bendix gear in half

#24 photo makes it easy to see how if the tractor was rocking with the nose pointed down could work that extra starter drive into the flywheel. Remember, the bell housing is part of the transmission case. See photo in post #5. EDIT: Bell housing doesn't swap out. I think it took me about three...
