Ford 841 Diesel Project
Well, it's time to get this tractor restored. The engine is disassembled and the cart tipped over and broke at least two pistons. I know nothing about the engine so I'm not sure where to start. I've done business with a local machine shop so a call to them is probably in order.- 930dreamer

I aligned the timing marks on the injection pump and removed, the local vintage tractor shop gave me the name of the diesel repair shop he'd use.- 930dreamer

Ford 861 leaking diesel into fuel?
Removed the fuel tank and radiator today, took off the valve cover and it looks like fuel is pooling at the front of the head. No other oil/fuel in the head other then this ares. <image src="http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/photos/mvphoto272.jpg"/>- 930dreamer

I didn't see a way to edit this post so, searching google lead me back to Yesterdays tractors and this possible answer- " The very common cause is the seals on the drive shaft in the fuel injection pump. You pull the pump then pull the shaft and replace 2 umbrella seals and an o-ring. Make...- 930dreamer

Hello all, I plan to look at a Ford 861 diesel in the next town and the ad states it leaks diesel into the oil. Is this a common issue for a vintage diesel, its been sitting in a barn for over a year. Thank you!- 930dreamer
