Cat D5B air in fuel lines

Bob got it right. I had sediment blocking the fuel line from the tank. I stuck a wire through it and out came the dirty fuel. Put it back together and primed it, and it started up and ran perfect. i am going to put a new primer pump on it though, because of the leak. Thanks much for the help

Cat D5B air in fuel lines

I should have added this additional info. I was grading, and it was running perfect, when I ran out of fuel. i filled up the tank, and primed the pump with the hand pump, and noticed it was leaking out of the piston on the pump when depressed (slightly, not a lot). Engine would start and run...

Cat D5B air in fuel lines

I have air (very small bubbles almost like foam) when I crack the fuel lines. Fuel pressure is fine for 5 minutes, then it starts to drop. If I re-prime with the primer p hand pump, it starts back up, but does the same thing within minutes. I am thinking that the fuel primer pump is faulty...

    69 Allis Chamlers

Looks like an HD11. We have one and it has been very reliable and easy to work on. Injectors are no problem. the one area to look for is the final drive. Make sure everything there looks tight and minimal leakage. Check the final drive oil level. $8k seems fair if in decent shape.

I have a leaking rear seal on my HD11. Has anyone done that type of repair, and any suggestions would be most appreciated. The dozer runs like a Swiss watch otherwise. The Best

    Cat D5B Clutch adjustment

Hi Bob, I cant find any ring that moves freely in the housing. Does it require a tool or wrench to move it? The Best

    Cat D5B Clutch adjustment

I have the manual for tightening the clutch on my dozer. I have removed the clutch inspection cover and loosened the 2 locknuts/retainer plates on the clutch. But the manual says to turn the adjusting ring to the right, but gives no description or location of the adjusting ring. Can someone...

    Update Cat 3306 fuel pump

Yes it was froze. I replaced the whole plunger and spring mechanism. i am doing manual timing and going to get it close to get it back in the barn. First round I had a cold cylinder (not enough fuel pumping out of the piston ? ), second round very hot cylinder (too much fuel pumping ? )...

    Update Cat 3306 fuel pump

Pic of plunger sheared off. All other plunger were perfect. Weird?

    Update Cat 3306 fuel pump

Yes, I beleive you are right. I think the lever is not set correctly. It is the same cylinder that I had problems with before, however, at that time it had no fuel going to it because of the sheared off plunger. It is firing but not real hot. At full throttle it heats up a bit. I guess I...
