    Speaking of wood... stoves

I have heated my house for over 35 years with a wood stove, and have had many different brand names including Vermont Castings. For the past 15 years I been using a Quadra Fire 3100 stove. Much better stove than any of the other ones. Easy overnight burns, when run properly, hardly any...

Feel like I have been taken advantage of.

Hey Dave, I can see where you are coming from, I tend to be overwhelmed when someone asks to borrow something. [ I would buy something before asking to borrow]. and I would have done the same as you, but that crosses the line when when someone other than the borrower is the user. just my 2 cents

    radial arm saw blade bolt

Did a foolish thing and broke the bolt that holds the blade on. thought it was right handed and snapped it off. This is a Craftsman saw about 20 years old or so. I got the broken piece out, but every place i check says this bolt is obsolete. It is left handed thread, but unsure of size or thread...

    Replacing Dropbox Seal on 1720

That particular seal is actually a seal the turns within itself. almost like a bearing. Just want to make sure you have the right one before installing. bought mine at the NH dealer, something like $80. good luck!

    Replacing Dropbox Seal on 1720

I did those seals on a 1520 last year. Scored the paint /gasket with razor knife. Then used a brass punch to the outer case all the way around. Once it starts to separate I was able to get a chisel in between. Just be gentle, those parts are hard to come by!

To tube or not to tube.

I second DRussell , have had to do that many times with shipped tires. And even better, if you can set them in the sun while propped open, all the better. I personally like tubeless better, run over a nail just pop a plug in it. no breaking down and patching. my 2 cents.

    Neighbor wanted to help

I'm of the stubborn nature also Just prefer to do things my own way. I sometimes get slack at work for refusing help when the boss asks me if I'd like a crew. nope

    It's about time I caught a break..

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago, rear tire on my massey half flat, thinking the worst, and trying to air it up, starts losing air faster, then I remember the inner valve, had one in the tool box... thank you lord

Keep the 1979 or buy new?

For just an acre of land I think I would be inclined to keep the little Ford. I have owned a couple of the compact shibaura's and have good luck with them. You don't say how many hours are on it, but with good maintenance you can expect it to last a good long time. If tires are good and no...
