    Granted I did not read the manual where it says to do a slow pickup to get the hay bale started etc. I wonder if that was the issue, I would generally start full PTO 540 and run at whatever normal speed where it seems to be picking up... I wonder if my noviceness has caused this issue...

    I think the latch is worn out as it shows wear and so possibly when it builds pressure it disconnects.

    Case 8420 round baler tailgate opens slightly while picking up hay and hence ruined the loading. Can't get the tailgate closed unless I empty the hay. I noticed one of the latches for the tailgate when closed is pretty loose, do you think that could be the issue
