'71 Roosa Master DBG cam pin split

I have removed hundreds if these over the years. I Have never had to cut the housing apart. Guess I haven't done enough of them, or just been lucky. Sometimes it just pays to have someone with experience do the work. GOOD pump work pays for its self. Most times a dull chisel does the trick. AL

    Fuel leak into oil pan

The little rubber grommet on the return line under the valve cover. It gets hard and cracks. I have seen one come to my shop without it even installed. I do welcome pump work and can always use the money, but most times on a 172 it isn't the injection pump but a cracked return line or rubber...

    sioux and B+D valve grinder

I am cleaning out some retired shop equipment. I have a Black and Decker, and a Sioux valve grinder looking for a good home. Both are in working order other than not being used for a few years. I have upgraded and am tired of storing these. Both would work great for the guy who would like to...

    Amish / ExAmish labor rates??

I was quoted verbally 15.5 on the low side, 23.5 on the high side. I pay for all lumber and materials. Didnt know that if they drove down here and got rained out I still had to pay travel time. Some days they only worked short days. I do blame myself, I didn't ask enough questions. I was...

    Amish / ExAmish labor rates??

I have a guy I have known for 40 years or close to. He moved to this area, milked cows and was a very good barn builder. He was the traditional Amish/ horse n buggy type. Him and another Amish built a barn for me at my Dads farm 25 years ago. No complaints. While building this barn the two guys...

    3020 dash panel size?

This is only a guess, but I learned in a much similar way that the hood/side screen for a 4010/4020 are a couple of inches taller than 3010/3020. I would guess you were shipped a panel from a 4020, they look the same from 5 feet back.

    S-O-S trivia

Many years ago I was in the old Stamm salvage yard in Wayland, Mi. I saw what looked like a Ford blue tractor, but had a drive shaft that was on each side of the trans and powered a front drive axle. It was stripped down a ways so it was hard to tell what it looked like before they started...

good and bad about select o speed..

I have 3 of them here on our farm. They are perfect for raking, tedding, 3pt Rd bale moving. The oldest, a 6000 has been with me since 1983. Only real trouble I have had is with input shafts slipping on the torque limiting clutch spline. I have welded up the shaft with tool and die rod and...

Is non bio diesel still available?

I am very old school, So I still use some cheap ATF. I think the ATF has so much detergent in it that it stops the bio diesel from waxing up. Heat also helps. You make heat by starting up the engine every month or so and let them run until up to operating temp. I have seen rotors so stuck that...

Is non bio diesel still available?

At least 50/60% of ALL pump work I see in my shop is from low sulfur diesel. Then add bio, home brew, or veggy diesel it gets much worse. Stuck, sticky or gummed up pumps is the most common repair. It not only makes pumps hang up it also causes flex rings to turn into mush after setting a long...
