    TO30 6v Generator has 3 wires?

You are exactly correct in how you interpreted what I said about the hour meter, I changed the wire to prevent that unneeded variable. Thank you for confirming about the L terminal on the voltage regulator connecting to the B terminal of the ignition switch, I thought so too.

    TO30 6v Generator has 3 wires?

Question for anyone, my ignition key switch has three contacts: I, L, and B. Understand that "I" goes to negative contact on coil, I have an hour meter between them. But does L go to the L on the regulator contact and B goes straight to the battery? I'm following this diagram that was...

    TO30 6v Generator has 3 wires?

Really appreciate it. I couldn't stick my head near the generator with the bucket but once I zoomed in on the pictures, it is definitely there. Your red letters helped! Appreciate the help!

    TO30 6v Generator has 3 wires?

I'm done for the day and am a little stumped on finding a label, attached are two pictures of sanded down parts next to the terminals. Looks like one has the letter T next to it? Will do some more research and sleep on it, ran out of daylight.

    TO30 6v Generator has 3 wires?

This is great information! I didn't realize my regulator was marked until I sand paper the rust off the tabs. I don't see markings on the generator though but I presume the middle is the armature (GEN) and the right lug is the field (F)? What would the left wire be?

    TO30 6v Generator has 3 wires?

Hi, my to30 has 3 wires going from the generator to the regulator. The tractor had a solenoid bypassing the shifter switch that wasn't working so I took out the solenoid and fixed the switch. I understand that the F on the regulator goes to the field coil on the generator, is this a 8-10 gauge...

3rd and 4th gear shift not staying engaged

That fixed it! Thanks! I just took a pin and hammered it loose. But it kept seizing after a day so I filled the ports with marvel mystery oil and it's been loose since. Penetrating oil want enough in my case.

3rd and 4th gear shift not staying engaged

Hi, I am currently reviving a non-op to30 that sat for 10 years. Currently redoing the wiring back to factory. I pulled out the shifter lever and access panel, loosened up all the rails since they seemed to be stuck. Now 3rd and 4th gear go into their slots but don't stay in, it is super loose...

TO30 Gears do not move when shifting

Thanks everyone for all the help. I figured everything out. I lifted the rear tires and the gears rotate fine. For everyone's information, the TO30 has these horseshoe plate of metal under the rail to engage the gears for different speeds. On later models, the gears move themselves eliminating...

TO30 Gears do not move when shifting

I think it might be the camera angle. It looks straight to me in person. Here's another picture.

TO30 Gears do not move when shifting

The shifter was never off the rail. I was looking at a video of a to35 shifting and it shows the gears moving forward and back. It looks like the to30 has these horseshoe like pieces that move forward and back instead, is that correct? Gears do not go forward and back, it looks like. Here are...

TO30 Gears do not move when shifting

Oh. Do I need to take the cover off to fix it or can I take the pin out of the shifter and lift it?

TO30 Gears do not move when shifting

Hi, I am a new owner of a non operating to30 that I am reviving. The shifter lever was stuck so I was able to free it by moving the middle pin selector with a pry bar. Now the shifter moves freely but the gears do not move forward or back when shifting into different gears. Do the gears only...
