    D17 Engine Oil Filter Pressure

I use a NAPA 1085 filter on my D17III It's shorter. I dind't have clearance issues but it's the same as in my 2004 dodge hemi so I stock fewer filters. I also think the shorter filter might fill up faster on startup to oil the engine quicker. I use the same filter for the hydraulics too...

    D19 tach cable

Lookup Star Speedometer in Florida. Hiam owns it and can make you one. It might be a little trickier wihtout an old one to measure but should be ok. You will have to measure and guesstimate the length. He rebuilt 2 of my tach and made new cables for them. Great work.

    G226 connecting rod bearings

When I rebuilt my WD45, some of the lock nuts had opened up a little and I could almost turn them on by hand so I figured they weren't locking much anymore. Someone told me to put a small socket on top the nut and hit it to punch the tabs together ago. Seemed to work pretty good.

    low prices

I'm seeing prices stay strong around here. One thing many people aren't realizing... While interest in these old tractors is dying off in the US interest, interest is growing outside of the US. Developing countries are buying these like crazy and shipping to South America and overseas (even...

Like Dr said. 18.4x42's will be the same height as 20.8x38's

Bigger tires for John Deere 3010.

You would need to switch to 14" or 15" rims to go to 16.9-38 tires. How is the tractor weighted? You might benefit more by filling the tires with fluid or stacking on wheel weights.

    JD 6620 Combine Fluids

The hydraulic system can have standard hydraulic oil but the hydrostat needs low viscosity. The Deere versions of these have been in our 20 series combines since the early 90's

Help needed to identify AC tow behind brush cutter

If you're going to fill with grease, use corn head grease. It's thinner and made for gearboxes. Grandpa ruined a gearbox on the old dairy stirator for the milk tank. It leaked oil and the milk inspector wrote him up for the leaking oil. Grandpa drained the oil and pumped it full of grease...

Removing Diesel fuel pump from a 185

If you're taking it to the shop for a rebuild it doesn't matter but if you're removing and reinstalling you have to wire the throttle shaft. If you don't weight or something inside will fall of. After a shop rebuid, they will wire it for you and you take off the wire after the pump is installed...

How to torque head nuts WD

Snap on makes a special wrench that I have. One end is a box end and the other fits a 1/2 ratchet. It's in the shape of a U so the the box end fits on the nut under the thermostat, then curves around back over the thermostat to put your torque wrench on.

    Oil type Allis wd45

I started using valvoline VR1 racing oil. It has high zinc level for flat tappet cams. I costs a little more but you dn't have to pay $20 for a bottle of zinc additive. I also figured it's better since you know the mix. Lucas zinc additive says to add one bottle per oil change. How do they now...

Bolt size for adding wheel weights to AC WD45

The weights take 3/4" carriage bolts. From my notes when I put mine on several years ago, 1 weight take a 3.5" long bolt. For each additional weight you need to add 2.5" of length. So 6" for 2 weights or 8.5" for 3 weights This post was edited by Allis Dave on 08/13/2021 at 01:19 pm.

    WD lift cylinder rebuild

I would call up and talk to Steiners. I've called them for issues before and they are helpful and will make it right.

    180 with snow blower

I always found that a snowblower tractor without a cab makes a snowman out of 'ya, but if that's all you have, then you deal with it.

    WD 45 Radiator

The original radiator has a small overflow tube that snakes down the sign of the radiator to the bottom. Make sure your new radiator is the same. I bought an A&I radiator and it just had a stub sticking out of the filler neck. I couldn't return it and had to notch my hood to make it fit. Still...
