    Hauling Hay In The 80s

Back in the 60's and 70's we put up about 50 acres a cutting for my grandfather, on the flat ground we pulled the wagon behind a D-15 allis with a New Holland 273(the last baler we had) my grand father would hook to flat beds together and move the hay to the barn with a Massey 150.

Johnson Grass - FYI Getting It Killed.

Thet don't seem to like eating it around my neck of the woods, they tend to graze around it and go for the fescue and such. I can raise a better forage crop than johnson grass here.

    Too much for the 640?

I would think that should be an easy pull for a 640, I pull a 6' landpride with an Allis Chalmers CA on hills and unless I let the grass grow too tall I can handle it.

    favorite square baler

WE only owned two, first one was an AC 303 dad wore it out then bought a NH 273 and keep it until he sold the farm year later. Both never failed us.

I wonder if Brazil has a EPA or some such?

No they do not, I know back in the 90's chemicals that were banned from tobacco use here in the states were still in use in South America. So as fewer people raise tobacco here guess where that tobacco comes from, countries that do not regulate hazardous chemicals.

Farmall Super C vs. John Deere A

Not really a good comparison, the JD A is a much heavier tractor with more power, the Farmall Super C is a lighter tractor with less power by far. I love the super C for cultivating and pulling wagons etc. But just cannot see how you can compare.

    Wheat harvest international 303

Never had a chopper on our 303 when we had it, but on the JD 7720 we took the chopper off to bale straw.

Moving rear wheels on the axle-Intl. Model H

We had an old H we used to plow tobacco with, so ours was moved in and out every year, if the clamps are in good shape and not rusted up not that hard. Easier to pull out than move in but if your axle is clean and the clamps are not rusted up etc it will take you longer to jack up the axle and...

OT help me please - Craigslist scam?

He is correct, one way is they send you more than the price saying it is for shipping and want you to send the remainder to this address ASAP. The check turns out to be a fake and your money has already gone. I had a tractor for sale and they tried it, but I would not send the money until the...

Can you bale hay tha thas been brush hogged

Well I do not know what the quality of your hay is, but I do know back years ago, our sickle mower went down and we took the side panel of the bush hog and finished cutting with it, beat it up a bit more but it baled okay.

planting beans with a corn planter

Never messed with a snap coupler, once had an Allis 4 row, it had 4 different sprockets bolted together, you just moved it over to the next sprocket and put the cotter pin back in for your ground speed.
