    Thanks guys for the info. Looks like a tear down coming. I guess the best way would be take governor and fan shaft off of tractor? Never done this before wish me luck.

    I have a 37 john deere A. its been sitting for about 30 years in side a barn. We had it running the other day and noticed movement of the fan shaft in and out when running. Also noise coming from the governor and fan shaft area. Anyone know what to look for and how to possible fix Thank You..

    I have seen guys having black magneto covers on their tractors to keep water condensation dirt what ever out. I was told they bought them from JD but i have not been able to find anything. Anyone knows or knows someone that makes these. Sure like to get a couple. Thanks...

    I bought the mag from a guy that is all he does. Its a nice mag everything inside and out is new. Timing might be off how the best way to time them.

    I have a 37 unstyled A. It has a complete rebuilt mag new complete rebuilt carburetor new wires new plugs and can not get it to start by hand. I can pull start it and it runs like a top. Any suggestions please. Thanks

    i have a 51 A we pull in 6000 class and pull big sleds with no problem. it does not have a stroked crank but does have a power block and heisler head. Took first last two weekends at local fairs.

    Unstyled A head gasket is this ok to use?

    go and get you a can of copper gasket coating stuff gets real sticky and works great i used it on all my head gasket's and never had a leak.

    i had mine hooked up on brake pressure switch but when i put four ways on when it flashes it puts trailer brakes on.
